MEET THE BIKEBAC SCANNER
The Bikebac Scanners are located at our partner bike shops and are able to automatically detect when a Bikebac Tracker equipped bike enters. When we detect that your missing bike has entered a partnering bike shop, we send out an email/SMS alert to notify you.
We then direct you to work with your local police department to recover your bike.
We provide these scanners at no cost to partnering
bike shops.
Bikebac Trackers use RFID technology that acts as a passive tracking device for your bike. If your bike is within the vicinity of one of our Bikebac Scanners, it will be scanned and the information will be recorded in our database.
Only when the Bikebac Tracker is scanned, but this plays an important part in helping you get your Bikebac. Please refer to our privacy policy for more information.
We recommend that you remove the Bikebac Bike Recovery Tracker when selling your bike as our product is not transferable to the new owner.
Absolutely! Please drop us a line to get in touch, we would be happy to discuss the benefits our products would bring to your community. You can email info@bikebac.com for more information.
We also see tremendous value in adding Bikebac Trackers to your rental fleet. Please email info@bikebac.com for more information.
Please immediately report your missing bike to the local police authorities and work with them. If you receive a Bikebac Alert, contact the police for next steps in investigating. Bikebac does not condone or support customers attempting to recover bikes on their own or trying to work with a partnering shop to get it returned.
Our journey started because we believed there was not a good and affordable product to protect bike owners beyond basic registration. We still believe conventional bike registration plays an important role. Please check out some other resources below for information: https://project529.com/garage https://bikeindex.org/
Bikebac Trackers are by no means a proof of ownership for your bike. We recommend having the following to help with recovering your bike including the receipt, serial number, make & model, colour, and an up-to-date photo of your bike at the very least. If you get your bike serviced, you can ask the shop to record the serial number on the receipt or work order as additional proof.
